Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Practice Lead with strong mental health experience to strengthen the quality, safety, and impact of Lifeline’s services. This is a 32-hour-per-week role, with some weekend work required.
In this role, you will:
· Lead evidence-informed, high-quality practice across Lifeline, with a strong focus on mental health support, suicide risk management, and safe practice.
· Ensure clinical policies, procedures, and practice standards remain current, are effectively communicated, and are consistently embedded across the service.
· Lead, coach, and support staff and volunteers to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred services.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of learning, accountability, and professional excellence.
· Provide supervision, guidance, and support to the Senior Shift Supervisor, Warmline team, and Volunteer team.
· Support the management of complex presentations, including case management, high-risk situations, and frequent caller support.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements that enhance outcomes for the people and communities we support.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
• A recognised Health Professional Qualification with relevant registration
• Proven experience in mental health, crisis intervention, risk awareness and suicide prevention.
• Strong leadership and supervision skills, with the ability to empower and support teams.
• A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence managing complex risk situations
