Through our 24/7 nationwide helpline and text service, we provide essential counselling and support that strengthens the wellbeing of individuals, whānau, and communities across Aotearoa.
Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
We are seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our team, working 32 hours per week on a rostered shift basis (evenings and weekends).
The purpose of this role is to ensure the delivery of efficient, seamless, and safe operations across Lifeline’s 24/7 service. You will provide both operational and leadership to our Helpline staff and volunteers, supporting the team to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and effective responses to people reaching out for support.
This is an opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is ready to step into a leadership role or a current leader.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A relevant qualification in Counselling or Social Work, or a related health profession (profession registration is essential for this role.)
· Experience working within a helpline, counselling, mental health, or social service environment
· Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to provide guidance, support, and direction to staff and volunteers
· Experience managing operational requirements within a 24/7 service environment (preferred)
· Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm, supportive, and solution-focused in complex situations
· A commitment to delivering safe, person-centred support aligned with Lifeline’s values
