Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
Our Shine team is one of New Zealand’s leading providers of family violence support and prevention services. We help adult and child victims become safer and stay safer, raise awareness and recognition of family violence, and deliver effective programmes to help prevent and eliminate violence in the home.
Working from our Auckland offices, in the community and our refuge centres, on a day to day basis you will be responding to victims in crisis situations, liaising with a wide range of external agencies to put in place and monitor plans to ensure their immediate and ongoing safety.
Able to contribute to a on call roster and work outside of hours from time to time (compensated accordingly)
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience
You will be a qualified and experienced, Social Worker, Counsellor or Psychologist with proven family violence sector experience. In addition, you will have:
- A comprehensive understanding of the causes and dynamics of intimate partner violence
- Knowledge of local social systems and community resources
- Commitment to developing and maintaining strong networks in the community
- Alignment with and able to demonstrate our values of Partnership, Compassion, Hope, Trust & Integrity; and Tangata Whenua in the way you work with our clients and your colleagues
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to manage competing demands
- Resilience, tenacity and determination
- Digital literacy, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Able to contribute to a on call roster and work outside of hours from time to time (compensated accordingly)
