Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
Our Shine team is one of New Zealand’s leading providers of family violence support and prevention services. We help adult and child victims become safer and stay safer, raise awareness and recognition of family violence, and deliver effective programmes to help prevent and eliminate violence in the home.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Team Manager with Family Violence experience to be an advocate for children, young people and adults experiencing family violence whilst providing assistance to other team members and the Advocacy Team Manager.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience
This isn't your everyday job, if you have:
- A Social Work or Counselling registration with 3 or more years’ experience in Family Violence.
- Previous experience in a managerial position
- An understanding of the causes and dynamics of intimate partner violence with clear gender analysis
- A working understanding of statutory requirements of Oranga Tamariki and the New Zealand Police
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Tenacity and determination; and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
- Commitment to developing and maintaining networks in the community
- Knowledge of legal and social systems and community resources and how to use willingness to learn and grow your understanding of the legal and social systems
- Skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and a willingness to develop experience in other applications.
Flexibility around hours as some evening and weekend on call work will be required. On call work is reimbursed accordingly.
