Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
Are you a passionate social worker that cares about supporting whānau to build safety, resilience, and brighter futures? Join our Family Works Northern team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of tamariki and families impacted by family violence. In this role, you will work alongside both people who use violence and those affected by violence, supporting positive change and stronger outcomes for whānau.

You will provide practical support, advocacy, and therapeutic interventions that promote wellbeing and lasting change. Working closely with social workers, counsellors, and other Social Services or PSN practitioners, as well as community and government partners, you’ll be part of a collaborative, values-driven team delivering holistic, integrated, and culturally responsive support for tamariki and their whānau.

This role will be based at any one of our Family Works offices which is negotiable(South /West/Central)

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience

You will have:

• Previous experience in the family Violence space is desired

• A social work qualification and be registered with SWRB as a full member.

• A full current New Zealand Driver’s Licence.

• Experience working with children and families and an understanding of Family Violence.

• Experience working with Tangata Whenua and/or families from diverse cultures and ethnicities.

• Effective written and oral communication skills, with sound prioritization and time management skills.
  The ideal candidate will have a positive outlook, be able to work under pressure, and problem solve.
