Internal Opportunity: Team Manager – Community Response -SIA
This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management, quality, and performance of the Community Response Team.
About the Opportunity
Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is strengthening its Community Response to Family Violence -an integrated, whānau-centred service designed to provide timely, coordinated support to those experiencing or at risk of family violence.
This service brings together social work, advocacy, and community-based support to ensure whānau receive the right help at the right time, with a strong focus on early intervention, safety, and long-term wellbeing.
We are seeking a Team Manager – Community Response to lead and support this critical frontline service.
This is a 12-month fixed term secondment to May 2027 based in Auckland. You will directly contribute to safer communities and improved outcomes for whānau across Auckland.
About the Role
This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day management, quality, and performance of the Community Response Team.
You will lead a team delivering community-based, integrated responses to family violence, ensuring high-quality practice, effective triage, and strong alignment with PSN’s model of care.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management
Lead and manage the Community Response Team, including supervision, coaching, and development
Build a strong, connected team culture grounded in PSN values
Ensure staff are supported to meet professional and registration requirements
Manage recruitment, induction, and ongoing workforce development
Practice and Service Delivery
Ensure high-quality, consistent practice aligned with PSN and Shine approaches
Oversee intake, triage, and allocation of referrals based on risk and priority
Maintain oversight of high-risk cases and support staff with complex situations
Ensure timely and appropriate case management, including transitions and closures
Community Response and Integration
Lead delivery of a wraparound, community-based response to family harm
Support integration across services (e.g. Shine, Family Works, SWiS, counselling, group programmes)
Enable whānau to access the right mix of supports, including counselling, advocacy, and programmes
Stakeholder and System Engagement
Build strong relationships with Police, MSD, Oranga Tamariki, Health, and community partners
Participate in coordinated cross-agency responses to family harm
Contribute to strengthening community pathways and local integration
Quality and Continuous Improvement
Monitor service performance and outcomes
Support practice audits, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with PSN policies and contract requirements
About You
We are looking for a confident, values-driven leader who brings:
Experience leading frontline social service or family violence teams
Strong understanding of risk, safety, and family violence dynamics
Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and high-risk situations
Experience in triage, service coordination, and integrated responses
Strong relationship-building skills across community and government partners
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally grounded, whānau-centred practice
