Presbyterian Support Northern (Community Feeding Communities) is seeking a passionate and organised Social Food Pantry Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of our Social Food Pantry (Foodbank) in Mt Roskill. This is a hands-on, community-focused role that plays a vital part in supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, while strengthening community connections and reducing food waste.
As the Social Food Pantry Coordinator, you will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of food, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and dignified service for all who access the pantry. You will combine practical logistics with a strong social service approach, working closely with volunteers, community partners, and local agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of food in line with health and safety standards
Leading, supporting, and coordinating volunteers to deliver a positive service experience
Building and maintaining strong relationships with local agencies, donors, and community groups
Ensuring the pantry operates efficiently and sustainably, with a focus on reducing food waste
Supporting a welcoming, inclusive environment that upholds the dignity of individuals and whānau accessing the service
This a part time role 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3pm)

We are looking for someone with 5+ years’ experience of working with local communities.
You will have advanced technology skills, and be able to implement digital solutions to replace manual processes.
You will be efficient and organized and complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
Being able to work independently is important while proactively cooperating with the wider team.
You will bring:
Experience in community services, food distribution, logistics, or a similar coordination role
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Confidence in leading and supporting volunteers
A genuine commitment to community wellbeing and social impact
You will be efficient and organized and complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
Being able to work independently is important while proactively cooperating with the wider team.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to connect with a diverse range of people in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner.
