Delivering 7 days a week counselling and support, Lifeline’s telephone counselling service is here to provide safe, effective and innovative services that support the emotional and mental wellbeing of our communities.
Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
We are looking for individuals with lived experience of using mental health services and/or experience of mental distress to provide telephone peer support to people accessing Auckland mental health services. Training in peer support model, preferred but not required.
Based in Epsom, working a 5-hour evening-only flexible roster including weekends and public holidays, this role will see you use your peer support experience, interpersonal and practice skills to ensure callers are supported in self-directed recovery and problem solving, using a non- discriminatory approach that seeks to empower callers.

As you will be working with a variety of people and ensuring that all interactions are recorded and managed appropriately we need to know you have; great IT skills including experience with data entry, online forms, and Microsoft Windows based applications.

- The ability to make sound decisions
- The ability to connect empathetically with any person in need and to express information clearly and succinctly.
Training in a relevant peer support model, preferred but not required.
Minimum of 20 hours per week preferred.
