Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you have a knack for research and evaluation with a background in service evaluation, social sciences, psychology, health or community development? We're on the lookout for a part-time Evaluator/Researcher to join our committed Service Evaluation team.
In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create high-quality, innovative research and evaluation outputs covering a range of complex social/wellbeing issues and services.
Reporting directly to the Impact and Evaluation Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of the process from start to finish, including:
- Evaluation/Research Design: Producing literature reviews, developing logic models, identifying key outcomes/indicators and appropriate data collection methodologies
- Data Collection: Applying a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and technology to gather the data needed to answer key research and evaluation questions and organisational management information
- Data Analysis: Utilising a range of data analysis techniques to draw meaning from complex data sets
- Reporting: Creating reports and other creative outputs that can engage a range of audiences and support decision making.
The insights will contribute to organisational decision making and fostering an organisation wide knowledge culture and evaluation and research capabilities.
This role is 20 hours per week -working Monday to Wednesday

We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail focused individual who is collaborative and fun and thrives for excellence in their work:
- A curious mind and passion for using data to answer complex research questions through gathering evidence, crafting of narratives and delivering appropriate information to diverse audiences.
- Practical experience in designing, implementing and reporting on research and evaluation projects.
- Creativity, initiative and an analytical mind.
- Some project management experience and an ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in social sciences, psychology, social work, education, health or community development.
Skills:
• Exposure to and experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and evaluations.
• Data analysis and data visualisation capability; confidence using excel to analyse large data sets is essential.
• Strong eye for detail, with critical and creative thinking abilities. Being able to think beyond the numbers and into the practical application of the insights is key for this role.
• Confident communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently as well as building effective interpersonal, team work and relationship management skills. Knowledge and understanding of public policy and key social and wellbeing issues our communities currently face
