Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity
Our Bay of Plenty based service is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker with management experience to lead a talented team of Family Works social services practitioners that includes Counsellors and Social Workers. This challenging role will see you consolidate your practice skills with leadership skills.
You will be responsible for ensuring service provision is delivered to a high standard whilst building relationships with the local community, and supporting your team in their development. This role will be based in our Tauranga office however from time to time will require your expertise in the Whakatāne office.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe I Your Skills and Experience
- 5 + years experience as a Social Worker
- Proven experience in a leadership role
- Commitment to work from a culturally responsive perspective and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Proven operational and people management experience
- Extensive social work experience working with children and families in complex situations
- The ability to develop and maintain relationships in the community
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- A recognised Social Work qualification
- Registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB)
- Proven skills in trauma informed practise
- Advanced understanding of strength-based practice principles
- The ability to engage with families when there are care and protection concerns
- Strong ability to work across cultures
